Adjusting to a new culture and university life can be challenging, but you don’t have to do it alone. 🙎🏽♂️🤦🏻♀️This support group is organized especially for non-local students like you, offering a safe and welcoming space to share, connect, and grow with others who have similar cultural backgrounds and experiences.

- Conflict Resolution and Assertiveness
- Building Trust and Positive Connections
- Applying Skills in Campus, Workplace, and Romantic Settings

What are Interpersonal Relational Skills?
Interpersonal relational skills are the abilities used to communicate and interact effectively with others across all aspects of life. Strong interpersonal skills are key for building and maintaining positive relationships in romantic, platonic, and work environments. These skills enable connection, understanding, and collaboration in daily interactions.

All CUHK full-time non-local students, including exchange students. Local students with extensive exposure to cultural experiences outside Hong Kong are also eligible (e.g. with international school background, or ethnic minorities born in Hong Kong)
Fee
Free of charge (A deposit of $300 for each group, refundable upon 75% attendance or above, refund at the last session of the group)
Trainer
Mr. David Liu (Counsellor at St. John’s Cathedral Counselling Service. As a former Olympic athlete with a rich background in counselling and dance, David brings a unique and empowering perspective to supporting personal growth.)

*As the group quotas will be filled on a first-paid (deposit), first-served basis, you are encouraged to pay as soon as possible. Please submit a deposit of $300 to Room 312, Wellness and Counselling Centre, 3/F Pommerenke Student Centre during office hours on or before 15/9/2025.
* Applicants might be contacted for a phone screening after paying the deposit. Application results will be released via email.
