The Hong Kong Society for the Deaf (HKSD) provides funding support for cochlear implant speech processor replacement, repair and related accessories. Details are available in the “Application Guidelines for the Cochlear Implant Charitable Foundation of The Hong Kong Society for the Deaf“.
Building on this support, the SEN Service coordinates with this scheme to offer supplementary financial support to students who are approved under the Cochlear Implant Charitable Foundation and registered with the SEN Service.
Students are required to apply for and obtain subsidy approval from HKSD first via SEN Service. SEN Service will refer your application to a designated social worker from HKSD to follow up your application. Upon receiving official funding approval, students must submit the HKSD confirmation letter to SEN Service. The SEN Service will then process your application and provide supplementary support to cover partial cost of the subsidised item.
