CUHK 24-hour Emotional Support Hotline: 5400 2055
Who will answer my call?
Your calls will be answered by professional counsellors from Christian Family Service Centre (CFSC) with extensive experience in handling crisis situations and supporting youth.
What languages are available?
Counsellors are proficient in Cantonese, Putonghua and English, so you can speak to them in the language you are most comfortable with.
What procedure will I go through if I call this hotline?
When you call, you will be asked to provide your student ID to confirm your eligibility for the service. After that, you will be able to talk to a counsellor about your situation.
Why do I need to provide my SID?
We understand that providing your student ID during a time of emotional distress might feel challenging. Given available resources, we are grateful for your understanding of this practice as we hope to limit the service to CUHK students only.
Do I need to be in a crisis to use the hotline?
No, you do not need to be in a critical situation to use this service. We welcome students with a wide range of emotional concerns, from mild distress to more severe issues. Depending on the nature of your situation, the counsellor may recommend additional support, such as face-to-face counselling at the CUHK Wellness and Counselling Centre.
Where can I provide feedback about the hotline service?
We value your feedback and are committed to continuously improving the service. The hotline workers will invite you to fill in an online feedback form after the call. You can leave your comments to us in the online form. We will review your feedback from time to time to ensure the hotline service quality.
If you have any additional comments or suggestions, please send an email to wacc@cuhk.edu.hk for our follow up.
